Social Workers

Alicia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been with Suburban Geriatrics since 1998.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work as well as a Certificate in Gerontology from Temple University School of Medicine. Alicia has experience in home-care, hospice, geriatric partial hospitalization, hospital and long term care. Alicia serves on the Mercy Suburban Hospital Bio-Ethics Committee and other local healthcare advisory boards.

Donna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years experience in the field of mental health. Donna graduated from SUNY at Plattsburgh with a BA in Social Work and then earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. Donna has experience with all age groups but primarily with children, youth and families. Donna is experienced in crisis intervention, trauma and various therapy modalities. Shifting to working with older adults is exciting and an honor.

Elena is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She graduated from Temple University with a Master’s of Social Work. Elena has always worked with the geriatric population in several capacities including behavioral health and in nursing homes. Elena’s last position was with the State Veteran’s Home in Chester County providing social work services to the resident’s and their families. She is committed to advocating for the needs of her patients and considers herself a “problem solver”. Elena resides in Montgomery County with her family.

Rose Muscarella is a licensed clinical social worker.  She received her Master’s in Social Work from Columbia University in 2002. She has worked in various healthcare roles in the Philadelphia area for over 20 years, including hospitals, facilities and in patients’ homes. Rose has focused experience in skilled home care, hospice and palliative care services.  She takes pride in ensuring that patients and their loved ones have a positive experience with their healthcare providers and feel supported along the way. She has a great passion for working with seniors, their families, and with peer healthcare providers alike.

Alessia graduated Penn State University with a BS in Biobehavioral Health and a minor in Health and Human Development. Alessia has over 6 years experience working with the senior population in the healthcare industry.

Kathleen graduated in 2019 with her bachelors in social work from Shippensburg University, minoring in gerontology. Upon graduation she immediately went to work in the field at a local nursing home, working there through the pandemic. During the pandemic she decided she wanted to go back to school, and recently finished her MSW from PennWest Edinboro. Still wanting to work with older adults after graduation, Kathleen is excited to begin working with Suburban Geriatrics, and to do what she feels called to do, help others.
